Anandhan Dhanasingh joined MED-EL in the year 2010 as an engineer within Research and Development (R&D) Electrodes department. Since then, he has served in different roles within R&D and currently serving as the Head of Electrodes Research & Inner Ear Malformation, R&D. In his current role, his responsibility concerns communicating the science behind MED-EL's Electrodes among the peers, find ways to fine-tune current electrode design and come-up with new electrode designs for new cochlear conditions. He holds a doctoral degree in applied biomaterials, master’s degree in biomedical engineering, both from the Aachen University of Technology, Germany, and bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Madras, India. He completed the master’s degree in business administration majoring in international business from the MCI-The Entrepreneurial School, Innsbruck, Austria in 2022. He has authored more than 50 research articles and was the inventor or coinventor of more than 20 patents on various aspects of cochlear implants since he joined MED-EL. Recently, he finished his 2nd PhD degree in Medical Sciences, from the University of Antwerp, Belgium.

Diab Khassan Mohamad Ali was born in 1973. In 1990 he graduated the school college Notre Dame de Paris. In 1999 he graduated from the medical care faculty of Rostov State Medical University. From 1999 till 2003 he studied as a resident on the ENT department of the same university and in St. Petersburg research Institute of Ear, Nose, Throat and Speech. After finishing the residency in 2003 Khassan Diab was admitted to the 2-year fellowship from which he graduated having passed a PhD thesis defense on the topic "Unsatisfactory results of stapedoplasty and ways of their correction" . Dr. Doug Hartley is a Professor of Otology at Nottingham University, a consultant ENT surgeon at Nottingham University Hospital's NHS Trust, and the Chief Medical Officer for Rinri Therapeutics. He graduated with distinction from Newcastle Medical School in 1995 and earned a DPhil from Oxford University in hearing research in 2001. He served as a Clinical Lecturer at Oxford and was the first Wellcome Trust Clinician Scientist Fellow in Otolaryngology. Associate Professor Dr. Noor Dina Hashim is a Consultant and Lecturer in Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She completed subspecialty training in Otology, Neurotology, and Lateral Skull Base Surgery in Seoul, Korea (2020) and Modena, Italy (2026). Professor Huang currently serves as the Chair and Professor of Otolaryngology at United Family Hospital (Shenzhen). Prior to his role as Chair of Otolaryngology, he acted as the Associate Director of the GCP Center and Clinical Center at United Family Hospital (Beijing).

Prof. Mohan Kameswaran is the Managing Director and Chief Surgeon of Madras ENT Research Foundation. He is a Recepient of The Padmashri and Dr. B. C. Roy awards. He is a Hon. Distinguished Professor of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R. Medical University. He is a pioneer in Cochlear Implant and Pediatric Auditory Brain Stem implants and has one of the largest series in the world. He has mentored over 40 cochlear implant centers in India and several centers abroad. He has over 200 publications and has authored 3 books. He has been a visiting Professor at the Royal Society of Medicine London and has received several International recognitions by International organisations such as the American Academy, British Academy and the Governments of Srilanka and Bangladesh. Professor Jafri Kuthubutheen is a Hearing Implant, Otology and Skull Base Surgeon based in Perth, Western Australia. He is a Clinical Professor at the University of Western Australia and the director of the Otology and Skull Base Surgery Fellowship program at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He is also the

medical lead for the Statewide Children's Hearing Implant Program and the Clinical Lead for the WA Country Health Services ENT program. He has a sub-specialist qualification Otology, Hearing and Skull Base Surgery from the University of Toronto and obtained his PhD from the University of Western Australia in the field of cochlear implantation. He has published 96 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals, presented over 50 papers at national and international conferences, and conducted over 15 surgical workshops. Professor Kuthubutheen is an editorial board member of the Australia Journal of Otolaryngology and was the Scientific Convener for the 2024 Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Annual Scientific Congress.

Dr. Akeem Olawale Lasisi is a professor of Otorhinolaryngology in the University of Ibadan. His research and clinical practice major in Otology, specifically, molecular biology of Suppurative Otitis media and genetics of hereditary and Acquired Hearing loss. His multicountry collaboration including Research Fellow in Inner Ear Autoimmunity at the University of California, San Diego between 2006 and 2007 and Visiting Professor in Genomics of Deafness at the University of Miami, Florida from 2014 to 2015, among others. He is a recipient of several travel and research grants including the Faculty of Clinical Sciences Travel Grant 2003 and 2005, the MacArthur Travel Grant 2006, the National Institute of Health Travel Grant 2013, the University of Ibadan MacArthur Foundation Multidisciplinary Team Research Grant in 2008 and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, and the National Institute of Deafness Research Grant on “Genomics of deafness” in 2013. He was the Nigerian Lead Investigator for the study on “Genomics of congenital deafness” , in collaboration with the University of Iowa, and supported by the National Institute of Deafness Grant between 2020 and 2024. His ongoing research includes the investigation of novel gene variants in the severe chronic suppurative otitis media and Bothersome Idiopathic Tinnitus. He is currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun.

Kenneth H. Lee, M.D., Ph.D. is a Professor in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and holds the John W. and Rhonda K. Pate Endowed Professorship. He received an A.B. in Molecular Biology from the University of California at Berkeley. He completed the M.D., Ph.D. program at Boston University School of Medicine with his doctorate in Neurobiology and a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. He then went on to complete the residency program in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and then a Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He currently serves as the Medical Director of Specialty Clinics at Children’s Health, as well as the Chief of Specialty Surgery and Director of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s Health, Plano. He is the director of the UT Pediatric Cochlear Implant Program at Children’s Health, Dallas and Plano. He also serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Qualia Oto.

He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Cochlear implant Alliance, and is a fellow of the American Otological Society, Triological Society, and the American Society for Pediatric Otolaryngology. His clinical interests are in pediatric otology and the treatment of hearing loss in children and his research is focused on the development of a novel cochlear implant electrode array.

Prof. Lieber Po-Hung Li was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He had the expertise in cochlear implantation. His research interests include tinnitus, cochlear implantation, application of artificial intelligence in clinical Otorhinolaryngology, and central auditory plasticity of magnetoencephalographic (MEG) signals. He received the M.D. degree and the Ph.D. degree in clinical medicine from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. He is now the President of Taiwan Tinnitus Association, Board Member of the East Asian Society of Otology (EASO), Director of the Department of Otolaryngology, Cheng-Hsin General Hospital, and Professor of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan.

Professor Li Yong Xin serves as the Chief of Otology at Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University. He has dedicated his career to clinical and basic research in otology, specializing in advanced surgical procedures such as complex cochlear implants, various hearing reconstructions, vertigo surgery, and lateral skull base tumor operations.

A prolific researcher and academic, Professor Li has led numerous high-level projects, including six National Natural Science Foundation of China grants and one National Key Research and Development Plan. His extensive contributions to medical literature include over 150 published articles as a primary or corresponding author.

Additionally, he has authored, edited, or translated 13 books and contributed to 15 further publications within his field.

Professot Li Yuan, M.D., is a Chief Physician in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at China-Japan Friendship Hospital and an Associate Professor at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine from Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, in 1992, followed by a Master’s degree in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery from the Peking Union Medical College in 1999. In 2021, she obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Genetics and Genetic Counseling from the University of Manchester, UK. Her international experience includes advanced fellowships at the House Ear Institute in the U.S. (2006) and the University of Würzburg in Germany (2009).

As a pioneer in the field, Professor Li began performing cochlear implant (CI) surgeries in 2001 and has since successfully completed over 1,400 CI procedures and thousands of middle ear surgeries. Her clinical and research focus extends to the molecular etiology of deafness, genetic counseling, and the rehabilitation of hearing loss and tinnitus. She has led numerous research projects and published over 30 papers in SCI and core journals.

Professor Li holds several prominent leadership roles, including Vice Chair of the Hearing and Language Rehabilitation Committee of the China Association of Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons and Vice Chair of the General Medicine and Health Management Committee of the China Health Information and Big Data Association. She is a Standing Committee member of the Vertigo Medicine Professional Committee of the Chinese Research Hospital Association and serves as a national expert for the revision of China's "Classification and Grading of Disabilities" (Hearing Disability Standard). Additionally, she is a regular reviewer for journals such as BMC Medical Genetics and Acta Oto-Laryngologica, and serves on the editorial boards of several major Chinese audiology journals.

Dr. Jona Minette E. Ligon, MD, FPSO-HNS, MMHoA is an otologist–neurotologist, audiology specialist, and cochlear implant surgeon based in Manila, Philippines. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and Section Head of Otology at East Avenue Medical Center, University of Santo Tomas Hospital, and Manila Central University–FDTMF. Her clinical and academic interests include hearing implants, pediatric hearing loss, vestibular disorders, and community-based hearing health initiatives and she is actively involved in advancing hearing and balance care through clinical practice, research, and education.

Dr. Rohit Mehrotra is a Professor and distinguished ENT surgeon with an M.S. in ENT from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow (1997). Dr. Olgun is currently working in Dokuz Eylül University School of Medicine as a ENT Professor. His main interests are cochlear implant and middle ear surgeries. He is mostly involved in cochlear implants and ototoxicity researches as well. He has PhD degree in basic oncology and MSc degree in

Professor Chris Raine is a leading paediatric and adult ENT surgeon based in Bingley. He manages both children and adults for all ear, nose and throat conditions, medically and surgically. Prof. Prem Sagar is a Professor in Otolaryngology & Head Neck Surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Her expertise spans pediatric otolaryngology, otology, neuro-otology, and implant surgery.

Professor Gonca Sennaroglu is Professor at Department of Audiology of Hacettepe University, Turkey.

Professor Sennaroglu did his medical training and otolaryngology residency in Hacettepe University Medical Faculty in Ankara. In 1996 He became associate professor, and in 2003 professor in the same department. He was a research scholar in House Ear Institute, Los Angeles California where he performed a temporal bone study on middle fossa approach (1997). For the last 30 years, he has been practicing only otology and neurotology. His main academic interest is inner ear malformations. He was involved in the classification and surgery of inner ear malformations. He has recently updated his classification system of inner ear malformations (2009, 2013 and 2017). He developed an electrode for malformations. Recently he performed a histopathological study on inner ear malformations trying to explain the pathophysiology of developmental inner ear anomalies (2016). As Hacettepe Implant Team they performed over 3546 implants until May 2026. They also started auditory brainstem implantation in prelingually deafened children in 2006. So far Hacettepe team performed 205 ABI in children. He has 164 articles in English language in peer reviewed journals. He was the president of the Otology and Neurotology Society in Turkey between 2008 and 2010. He was the chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology in Hacettepe University between 2006 and 2011. During this time 4 year -Audiology Undergraduate Program was set up in Hacettepe University.

Dr. Saumitra Shah after completing his graduation at P .S Medical college, Karamsad finished his Masters in Otorhinolaryngology in March 2007. He then went for further training to Chennai at Madras ENT Research foundation under the guidance of Padmashree Dr. Mohan Kameswaran. Here he received extensive training in cochlear implant surgery, microsurgery of the ear and endoscopic sinus surgery. He then visited the famous House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, USA where he did fellowship in Ear surgery. During his Post Graduate studies, he presented his research papers at Gujarat State Conference in Diu (2005) and Daman (2006) , where he won the best paper award on both the occasions. He has attended various courses and workshops all over the country on endoscopic sinus surgery and temporal bone dissection. Dr. Saumitra Shah is the first to start cochlear implant program in South Gujarat under the guidance of his mentor, Dr. Mohan Kameswaran. The first implant was performed in April 2008. Since then, he has successfully performed more than 800 cochlear implant surgeries on patients with varying age, the youngest child being 8 months old which is the youngest case in India. He has done fellowship at the Bionic Ear Institute and royal College of Surgeons, Melbourne, Australia which is considered to be a renowned centre for cochlear implant surgery all over the world. He recently also visited Liden Medical centre for advanced training in Cohlear implant surgery. He was awarded Dr. R.A.F Cooper award for his research paper – “ Clinical audit of functional outcome measures after cochlear implantation: A South Gujarat experience” in Jan 2011 , which is given by the Association of otolaryngologist of India for achieving excellence in the field of ENT by surgeons of less than 10 years experience . He is also awarded the foreign travel fellowship by Indian society of Otologists to well-known Cause Clinic in Paris for 3 months fellowship He was invited by the Cochlea Ltd , Australia for The Visiting Implant Specialists to Australia (VISTA) program as faculty for research and development in the field of cochlear implants. Professor Shi Haibo, M.D., is a Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Chief of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. A recognized "Shanghai Leading Talent" and "Model Physician of China," he specializes in cochlear implants, hearing reconstruction, and endoscopic ear surgery. Professor Shi serves as the Chief Scientist for a National Key Research and Development Program and holds leadership positions in several prestigious organizations, including the Chinese Medical Association. With over 100 publications in elite journals such as Nature and Science Translational Medicine, his distinguished career is marked by significant contributions to both clinical practice and medical research, earning him top honors like the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.

Ms Donna began her career as an early childhood teacher. She then trained as a Teacher of the Deaf, gained her Master Degree in Education of the Hearing Impaired and then became a Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist®.

During her career of forty years, she has worked in a variety of roles and settings with individuals with hearing loss of all ages. Donna has worked in cochlear implant programmes in New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom, including at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and The Shepherd Centre in Australia. She has presented numerous lectures and workshops worldwide and has provided mentoring and consultancy to professionals in an independent capacity.

Currently she works as Senior Auditory-Verbal Therapist for hearLIFE in the Southeast Asia and North Asia region. In this capacity she has worked in many countries and in many different capacities. She oversees all rehabilitation services for the hearLIFE clinics, and is responsible for the clinical skills of all rehabilitation professionals in hearLIFE Southeast Asia."

With over 20 years of experience in the field of ENT (ear, nose, and throat), Dr Barrie Tan is a leading ENT specialist in Singapore with subspecialised expertise in hearing loss and cochlear implants. He also manages conditions such as snoring, sleep apnea, and nasal or sinus disorders, and performs endoscopic ear surgery. As an experienced and highly skilled ENT doctor, he provides compassionate care for adults and children across a wide range of otolaryngological conditions.

Before establishing his own clinic, the Barrie Tan ENT Head & Neck Surgery centre in Singapore, Dr Tan served as Head of the ENT Department at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), the largest unit of its kind in the country. He has been actively participating in various fields of research in ORL-HNS. He has published numerous articles in local and international journals, written a few books, monograph and chapters of the book on skull base surgery.

Currently, he is working as Professor in Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and practising as Senior Consultant in Sarawak General Hospital & Visiting Consultant in Borneo Medical Centre, Kuching, Sarawak.

S M Toufiq Abir is an Assistant Professor of Audiology, Senior Audiologist, and Speech-Language Pathologist with over a decade of experience in clinical service, education, research, and business consultancy. He serves as an Assistant Professor of Audiology at MCPHS (affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Dhaka) and is the Director of Hearing & Speech Solutions Ltd. Previously, he worked as an In-House Faculty Member in the Department of Audiology & SLP at PISER, an Army Institute under the Faculty of Medical Studies at BUP . His work covers hearing aid fittings, cochlear implant rehabilitation, and speech-language therapy. Alongside his clinical and business responsibilities, he mentors students and contributes to academic development. He also serves as the General Secretary of BAASLP , working to support professional development in the field of Audiology and SLP .

Dr. Umat graduated from UKM in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physics. She joined UKM as a tutor (under the Biomedical Science program) upon graduation in 1993, when UKM was planning to start the Audiology course. She completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Audiology & Master's in Audiology in 1994-1995 at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. In 1996, she returned to Malaysia and began working as a clinical audiologist & a lecturer in Audiology at the then Department of Audiology & Speech Sciences, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, UKM. From 2002 to 2005, she completed her PhD in Cochlear Implant Psychophysics at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia. Currently, she holds the position of Associate Professor in Audiology in the UKM Audiology Program. Since 15th August 2025, she has been appointed as the Head of the Center for Ear, Hearing & Speech (HEARS) in the Faculty of Health Sciences, UKM, a position that she will hold until I retire from UKM on 28/10/2027.

She has been in the UKM Cochlear Implant team since 1997. Since obtaining her PhD in 2005, her research interests have focused on cochlear implants, especially in children. She am currently an International Editorial Board member for the Cochlear Implants International journal, published by Taylor & Francis Group. She have also been appointed as the Advisor (Audiology) for the National Cochlear Implant team under the Malaysian Ministry of Health.

Nancy M. Young, MD, FACS, FAAP is the Lillian S. Dr. Young was a founding board member of the American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACIA). She is President of the American Otological Society. Dr. Young leads a multi-center study supported by NIH/NIDCD to develop individual child level language prediction after cochlear implantation using pre-surgical brain anatomy derived from brain imaging and AI-enabled analytical methods. The goal of this research is to develop a predict-to-prescribe method to improve language outcome by implementing effective individualized behavioral therapy.

Mario E. Zernotti is professor of ENT at Catholic University of Córdoba and National University of Villa Maria, and professor of Clinics of Hearing at National University of Córdoba. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of ear surgery in Sanatorium Allende. He was the pioneer in electro acoustic stimulation (EAS) and hearing preservation in all America, doing the first cases of EAS cochlear implants in the continent. Besides, his team was the first to do Active Middle Ear Implants and bone conductive prosthesis in the region. This group is working specially in atresia/microtia patients, very common malformation in South America, and northwest of Argentina, doing a comprehensive approach to the problem. Member of Hearring, Past president of GCIAN (Global Cochlear Implant Access Network) and President of the 8th World Congress on CI in Emerging Nations (2024).
